What if pardoning a family member could shake the very foundations of the American political landscape? Today, we get to the heart of President Joe Biden's controversial pardon of his son, Hunter. We question the integrity of our judicial process and challenge claims of selective prosecution against Hunter. As we navigate the murky waters of politics and family ties, we scrutinize President Biden's narrative suggesting Hunter was unfairly targeted because of his last name and unpack the dramatic collapse of the plea deal. Our discussion seeks to offer an unvarnished view on what many perceive as a pivotal moment in U.S. political history, all while questioning the ethics and precedents being set.

But that's not all—there's a whole other web of intrigue involving Hunter's international business dealings. We trace the timeline leading to the infamous laptop story and discuss its impact on the 2020 election, dissecting the role of social media platforms in shaping public perception. With insights from Devin Archer's testimony about the "Biden brand" and Joe Biden's contentious involvement in a Ukrainian prosecutor's dismissal, we explore the broader implications of these complex narratives. Tune in as we question the intersection of politics, family, and international relations, asking you to consider the potential ramifications for the Biden administration and American democracy.

In the biggest predictable news in american history, joe biden has parted, pardoned hunter biden. Oh yeah, are you surprised? Neither am I. This is something that we all saw coming. Um, we've talked about it previously. It makes perfect sense that joe biden would pardon hunter biden, giving the circumstances, but this situation is much more corrupt, uh, than you know about, and that is what we corrupt, than you know about, and that is what we're going to talk about. Speaker 4:

This is a statement from President Joe Biden. Today I signed a pardon for my son, hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department's decision-making, and I kept my word, even as I watched my son being selectively and unfairly prosecuted. You didn't keep your word because the Justice Department quote unquote investigated it, which was just white noise, and then he pled guilty and now you're pardoning him. So you didn't keep your promise that you wouldn't interfere with the Justice Department's decision making. You interfered with it. Wouldn't interfere with the Justice Department's decision making. You interfered with it Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser.

Speaker 4:

People are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. You know, people aren't necessarily brought to felony court on charges of how they value their properties either. Like donald trump was those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addiction but paid them back subsequently with interest, and penalties are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that hunter was treated differently. Oh really, joe? The charges in his case came about only after several of my political opponents in congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election. Then a carefully negotiated plea deal agreed to by the justice department unraveled in the courtroom, with a number of my political opponents in congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held it, it would have been fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter's case. That's not true. The plea deal was such an extreme obstruction of justice that the judge said no. Typically judges don't do that. Typically, if the prosecutor and the defense attorney agree and the defendant agree, typically the judge signs off on it and says okay, but this was so extreme, so severe, so just completely out of whack and out of the norm that the judge said absolutely not, I'm throwing this away. This is absolutely unacceptable. I've seen the evidence in this case and he's not getting away with. This essentially is what the judge said a federal judge. No reasonable person who looks at the facts of hunter's case can reach any other conclusion than hunter was singled out only because he is my son, and that is wrong.

Speaker 4:

There has been an effort to break Hunter, who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they tried to break me and there is no reason to believe I will stop here. It will stop here. Enough is enough.

Speaker 4:

For my entire career, I have followed a simple principle Just tell the American people the truth, they'll be fair-minded. Here's the truth. I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to the miscarriage of justice. And once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision. Americans do understand Joe. They understand how incredibly corrupt you are, they understand how incredibly corrupt your family is and they understand just how horrible of a politician you are, since Joe Biden has spent his entire career using his political power to benefit his family financially, I mean. There's overwhelming evidence of that. I'm sure that there is going to be much more coming out.

Speaker 4:

I think this entire time, joe Biden had, every 100 percent, every intention to pardon Hunter Biden, without a doubt in my mind. I think they were unfairly going after Donald Trump. And then Hunter Biden got caught doing actual illegal activities with his ties in Ukraine that his father has now waged a war over and costed countless lives and billions and billions of American taxpayer dollars. Going to Ukraine after his son was caught on a board of directors for an oligarch who was looking for connections with Washington DC and was paid $50,000 a month for a position where he didn't do anything, didn't have the experience to have, solely because his father was his father, and his father is now the president of the United States. And voila, all of a sudden, billions and billions of dollars in aid are being fed to Ukraine under to the condition, by the way, the condition that Joe Biden was to provide Ukraine billions of dollars was that Zelensky had to fire the lead prosecutor in investigating Hunter Biden.

Speaker 4:

Yes, that's true, but the corruption with the Biden administration it never seems to end. This is is what career politicians do. This is why nancy pelosi's stock portfolio uh doubles every year. 100 returns, 50 returns. It's absolutely um 100% corruption. I mean, our political system is entirely corrupt. These people do not get elected president or elected to Congress to do what's right. They do it for their own benefit and their own family's benefit, and we've seen this countless times. It's just human nature. Here is an IRS whistleblower criticizing Hunter Biden's plea deal. This is from CBS News. Let's watch this.

Speaker 6:

The IRS whistleblower who raised concerns about the Justice Department's investigation into Hunter Biden is now accusing federal prosecutors of offering a sweetheart deal to the president's son. Offering a sweetheart deal to the president's son, hunter Biden agreed earlier this month to a plea deal involving tax and firearm related charges. Attorney General Merrick Garland has said he did not influence the case, but whistleblower Gary Shapley tells CBS News Jim Axelrod he thinks the president's son got off easy.

Speaker 5:

If this was any other person, they likely would have already served their sentence.

Speaker 3:

Gary Shapley was a lead IRS supervisory agent in Operation Sportsman. The investigation into Hunter Biden Shapley said he uncovered conduct that warranted more serious charges.

Speaker 5:

There were personal expenses that were taken as business expenses. There were personal expenses that were taken as business expenses Prostitutes, sex club memberships, hotel rooms for purported drug dealers. How much did Hunter Biden owe in taxes? So, from 2014 to 2019, it was $2.2 million.

Speaker 3:

The back taxes were paid off and last week the Trump-appointed US attorney in Delaware, David Weiss, reached an agreement with Hunter Biden. The president's son, would admit to a fire.

Speaker 4:

Appointed US attorney in Delaware, David Weiss, reached an agreement with Hunter Biden, the president's son, would admit to a fire. You notice how they emphasize Trump, the Trump appointed. Yeah, so Trump appointed him. A guy he probably doesn't even know was recommended to him by the seventh person in a chain of people to get elected. But oh, this was Trump appointed, so therefore this must be fair.

Speaker 3:

Firearm charge and plead guilty for his failure to pay taxes. If a judge signs off, the deal means no jail time.

Speaker 5:

Testimony. We have just released details.

Speaker 4:

A lack of US attorney independence.

Speaker 3:

And Shapley told lawmakers that US Attorney Weiss was blocked from bringing stronger charges, but US Attorney General Merrick Garland said last week that Weiss was not.

Speaker 4:

So Weiss works for Merrick Garland, who, in turn, works for Joe Biden, turn works for Joe Biden. So we're there to believe. We're here to believe that, absolutely, this guy was given carte blanche to prosecute his boss's boss's boss's son without any interference. Gotcha, yeah, that absolutely happened.

Speaker 6:

He was given complete authority to make all decisions on his own.

Speaker 5:

I documented exactly what happened and it doesn't seem to match what the attorney general or the US attorney are saying today.

Speaker 3:

Shapley provided lawmakers this contemporaneous email. He wrote after an October meeting last year. Shapley says Weiss told him the opposite, that Weiss is not the deciding person on whether charges are filed. It was just shocking to me.

Speaker 5:

Shapley, who is still working for the IRS, told us that even before President Biden took office he was directed to avoid leads involving Hunter's father, there were certain investigative steps that we weren't allowed to take that could have led us to President Biden, and you wanted to take them. We needed to take them and you weren't allowed to take. That could have led us to President Biden and you wanted to take them. We needed to take them and you weren't allowed to take them. That's correct.

Speaker 3:

It is important to point out that at that point in Shapley's investigation, donald Trump was still president and his attorney General, william Barr, had rules in place that may have limited what Shapley could pursue. Sure, the US Attorney's Office in Delaware had no comment. As for Hunter Biden, his attorneys did not respond to us, but he said before in a statement that he's taking responsibility for mistakes he made during a period of turmoil in his life.

Speaker 6:

Jim, I'm interested in David Weiss. There are so many different descriptions of what Weiss said. What Weiss himself said Can you untangle that spaghetti for us? This?

Speaker 3:

is really what I think the takeaway from talking to Gary Shapp is all about. So you've been hearing from the Hunter Biden camp. Look, the Trump appointed US attorney in Delaware says he couldn't charge any more severely than he did and that he had full autonomy, full authority. What Shapley is saying now is that he was in a meeting with Weiss October 7th 2022, where Weiss says no, I don't have full authority.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and I 100 percent believe that when Hunter Biden's laptop was withheld from being publicized on Twitter or Facebook and that it was Russian disinformation, donald Trump was president. It was the bureaucrats in the FBI, the Department of Justice and elsewhere that have been there forever, that have a a long lasting relationship with the Biden family that interceded in the election. And that's what you hear about the deep state. This is the deep state. These are the people. Here is a Sky News report on Hunter Biden's laptop. Let's listen to this. Hunter Biden's laptop. Let's listen to this.

Speaker 10:

It's a story with suggestions of a scandal, one that could threaten a presidency. At its center is a laptop. The computer belongs to Hunter Biden, son of Joe, the US president. It's been all the talk, particularly in Trump supporting circles, for years.

Speaker 5:

By the way, whatever happened to Hunter? Where the hell is? He circles for years, by the way whatever happened to Hunter?

Speaker 10:

Where the hell is he Now? Republicans in Congress want to investigate the Hunter Biden affair, so what are the allegations against him? What could be the implications for his father, the US president? The story was reported in the right wing New York Post before the 2020 election. It went like this it was 2019 and Joe Biden was soon to run against Donald Trump for the presidency.

Speaker 10:

Hunter Biden went into a computer repair shop. He wanted to recover data from some broken laptop computers, but he never returned to pick them up. Eventually, the computer repairman, john Paul MacIsaac, looked at what was on the laptops, as he says he was allowed to under a so-called 90-day abandonment procedure. What did the computer repairman find? Well, quite a lot Homemade pornography, embarrassing photos, but it was the email traffic that turned this into a more serious matter. Hunter Biden used to be on the board of a Ukrainian energy company called Burisma, and John Paul MacIsaac claims the laptop contained evidence that Hunter Biden used his connection with his father to help in this role, something that would amount to corruption. One email from a consultant to the firm read Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spend some time together. The announcement of my guy's upcoming travels now.

Speaker 10:

Now my guy Hunter refers to his father as my guy or the chairman or the big guy Joe Biden says he's never discussed his son's overseas dealings with him. He's dismissed the whole story.

Speaker 4:

You've never discussed your overseas dealings with your father, the president of the United States, while you're dealing with a country we are giving billions of dollars in money to. I mean, maybe not at the time, but maybe later, never, never. When you sit down to dinner, when you over a family's house, do you ever discuss your job? Does your mom ever ask you hey, how's work going, son, how's that new job of yours, what are you doing? So what do you do over there? What's this new position all about? That doesn't happen in America. Give me a break.

Speaker 10:

Russian disinformation. Ah MacIsaac, the computer repairman who says he voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election, made a copy of the laptop's contents and then told the FBI in December 2019. The story eventually made its way to the New York Post. It was seized upon by Mr Trump and his supporters, but it didn't make the impact that might have been expected. The FBI made clear their concerns about Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 election. Subsequently, facebook and Twitter restricted the spread of the laptop story on their platforms. Joe Biden won the 2020 election. The laptop story wasn't given the scale of coverage that might have been expected, but it's now back in the spotlight. Republicans control the House of Representatives in the US and in the new session of Congress, they've promised to investigate claims of corruption.

Speaker 8:

This evidence raises troubling questions about whether President Biden is a national security risk and about whether he is compromised by foreign governments.

Speaker 10:

Republicans in the House are also planning to look into illegal immigration at the Mexican border and the US government's handling of COVID-19. It's all part of a wider effort to undermine the Biden administration with an eye on the 2024 election.

Speaker 4:

This is obviously older videos, but it definitely does show you the timeline accurately. Yeah, it was taken down from Twitter and from Facebook and elsewhere, I believe YouTube as well the the biden family or the democratic party or the democratic campaign or you know. However you want to slice it, you know, but the connection between ukraine is um interesting. Now, again, I do think joe biden department of justice had to prosecute Hunter Biden. They had to at least investigate him and go through and try to make it as easy as possible so that they can come out publicly and say, well, no, we're not going after Donald Trump. They were forced to because they had to say, well, no, we're fair, I'm not involved.

Speaker 4:

And then in the end, he pardoned Hunter Biden, but did he pardon Donald Trump? I think he should have pardoned Donald Trump. I think it would have been a bigger pill to swallow if Joe Biden pardoned Donald Trump and pardoned Hunter Biden together and said we need to turn the page on this chapter in America. Things got out of hand, let's move on. I think that would have been an amazing political step for him and the fact that he did pardon hunter would have went basically almost unnoticed. Um, because the the factor that everybody would have been screaming about, why he pardoned donald trump. This is um the. The connection between ukraine and joe biden and ukraine and hunter, and now we're involved in this war, is something I cannot look past. Here is a wall street journal, uh, piece on is he supposed to say hi, son?

Speaker 7:

oh no, I'm not going to say hello to the other people at the table or the other people on the phone, the moment that demon archers closed door testimony had finished, and that was the democratic response to news that joe biden had spoken to his son's business associates on speakerphone. Fortunately, the full transcript of what Hunter Biden's former business partner said to the House Oversight Committee has now been made public.

Speaker 9:

Well, at the end of the day he had a career in Washington, graduated Yale Law School and had a very big network in DC and brought that know-how and understanding of DC and ultimately the Biden brand.

Speaker 7:

Devin Archer served with Hunter Biden on the board of Ukrainian energy giant Burisma and in testimony he confirmed that when Hunter put his father on speakerphone with business clients, there was a brand being delivered.

Speaker 1:

You have someone who says yes, the president was part of moving the brand. Well, what was the brand? I mean, this was an influence peddling brand and the object of that influence peddling was Joe Biden. He was an essential part of that.

Speaker 7:

In the transcript, democrat Dan Goldman asks Mr Archer if he has any knowledge of Joe Biden having any involvement with Burisma. Mr Archer replies no. My only thought is that I think Burisma would have gone out of business if it didn't have the brand attached to it.

Speaker 12:

I had gotten a commitment from Poroshenko and from Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor, and they didn't.

Speaker 7:

During a Council on Foreign Relations discussion back in 2018, then Vice President Joe Biden reflected on his role in using $1 billion in US aid to get Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired during his December 2015 visit to Kiev. Mr Archer says that Mr Shokin, who was investigating Burisma, was not specifically on my radar and that he quote was spun a narrative that Shokin was good for Burisma.

Speaker 12:

So they said they had. They were walking out to press conference and I said I'm not going to or we're not going to give you the billion dollars. They said you have no authority, you're not the president. The president said I said call him. I said I'm telling you you're not getting president. The president said I said call him. I said I'm telling you you're not getting a billion dollars. I said you're not getting a billion, I'm going to be leaving here. I think it was what six hours. I look. I said I'm leaving in six hours If the prosecutor's not fired, you're not getting the money. Oh, son of a bitch Got fired and they put in place someone who was solid.

Speaker 4:

So this is somebody who was investigating his son.

Speaker 7:

Same year, 2015, Amos Hochstein, a senior energy official in the Obama administration, warned Mr Biden that Russia-backed media were using Hunter's presence on the Burisma board to undermine the US anti-corruption message. Then, in 2016, an even blunter message from George Kent, a top diplomat in Kiev. Ukrainians, Mr Kent said, heard one message from us and then saw another set of behaviour with the family association with a known corrupt figure whose company was known for not playing by the rules in the oil gas sector.

Speaker 8:

I became aware that Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma Soon after that. In a briefing call with the national security staff of the office of the vice president in February of 2015, I raised my concern that Hunter Biden's status as a board member could create the perception of a conflict of interests.

Speaker 7:

During an interview with ABC News in 2019, Hunter Biden agreed that the optics of being on the board of Burisma whilst his father was vice president didn't look good. You know what I'm a human.

Speaker 12:

You know what? Did I make a mistake? Well, maybe in the grand scheme of things, yeah, but did I make a mistake based upon some unethical lapse?

Speaker 7:

Absolutely not, joe Biden has for years denied ever discussing Hunter's business dealings with him. I've never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings, but as more testimony and evidence comes to light, the story's changing.

Speaker 1:

The president was never in business with his son.

Speaker 7:

Democrats, of course, can spin this any way they like, but the point is, irrespective of whether Joe Biden took a dime from his son's business dealings, devin Archer's testimony highlights a form of political corruption.

Speaker 11:

There is not a shred of evidence of a single conflict of interest of President Biden ever doing anything in connection or in relation to hunter biden's business ventures, other than advocating for the removal of a prosecutor general who was advantageous to barisma which, of course, is absolute nonsense Absolute nonsense, and the evidence that came out after all of this is overwhelming.

Speaker 4:

Hunter Biden's text messages were found. Messages were found and um hunter had said that in the text messages. I'm going to pull it up here for you because it's just so important that um, here here's the text message. Let me open the screen up here so we can all look at it and I'll read it out loud for everybody on the podcast here. This is Hunter Biden.

Speaker 4:

I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now, before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight, and now means tonight and z if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that, between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction, I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father Sounds like evidence to me that Hunter Biden is texting the officials in Ukraine that and now he is no longer able to be persecuted for any of this. Hunter Biden is not. It's done. Joe Biden has pardoned him for the gun crime and the tax evasion, and also a blanket pardon of anything that happened between 2014 and today. Here is just a small compilation of the promises of the Biden administration that they were not now, nor were they ever going to pardon Hunter Biden.

Speaker 9:

Second one would the president pardon or commute his son if he's convicted?

Speaker 11:

So I've answered this question before it was asked of me not too long ago, a couple of weeks ago, and I was very clear and I said no.

Speaker 5:

We go back to the first question of the briefing. I know you said not a lot's changed since yesterday and that it's a personal matter, but from a presidential perspective, is there any possibility that the president would end up pardoning his son?

Speaker 3:

No, you've also said several times that the president would not pardon or commute sentences for his son, Hunter. I just want to make sure that that is not going to change over the next six months.

Speaker 1:

The president's saying he would not. It's still a no. It's still a no. It's still a no. It will always be a no.

Speaker 7:

It's still a no. It will be a no, it is a no and I don't have anything else to add.

Speaker 8:

Will he pardon his son? No.

Speaker 4:

And he pardoned him last night. Joe Biden himself has said it many times. I will not. That's not going to happen multiple times, but yet what happened? It's just another lie perpetuated by Joe Biden. Another thing is Pam Bondi, who is slated to be the next attorney general, was the one who kind of broke the news on the connection between Hunter Biden and the ukrainian war and the corruption that joe biden was directly involved in during donald trump's impeachment trials that nobody was looking into or doing anything about. Thank you for tuning in. Make sure you hit that like share and subscribe button. Don't forget to leave a review on the podcast and tune in. Monday through friday we are live at 8 pm.
