so sunny hostin, uh, the view host is she just had a big secret revealed and wait till you hear this. But before, before we get to that, um, this is sunny hostins and she's on a talk show and she's talking about her, her view on racism in america. Listen to this. Say that you make everything about race. Yeah, and what's your response to people when they say that?
Speaker 2:My response to people is that, unfortunately, because of the origins of this country and the original sin of this country, everything is about race. And that's just true, right. But if we were a country that could come to grips with our history, accept our history, perhaps pay reparations, Pay reparations very interesting.
Speaker 2:That are due and perhaps just stop trying to erase our history. I don't think everything would be about race, but another thing that I want to say is it's very interesting to me. I'm a little bit of a bar fly, so I'm sitting at a bar with a friend and a woman came up to me and said that I made everything about race and that I shouldn't, because she doesn't see race. And I sort of used the Trevor Noah line like well, are you able to drive? Do you see red, yellow and green? Like, can you see a stoplight? So you see color. She said she didn't see color. And I don't care that you see my color. I just want you to treat me the same way that you would treat anyone else with a different color. That's that.
Speaker 1:That's it well, we do treat you the same way that we treat anybody else who is, in fact, an idiot but here. So the here is what the recent revelations she found out about her family history. Listen to this wow, I'm, I'm.
Speaker 2:I'm a little bit in shock. I I just always thought of myself as puerto rican, you know half puerto rican.
Speaker 1:You're not not Puerto.
Speaker 2:Rican. My family was originally from Spain and slaveholders.
Speaker 1:Oh, interesting, you're descended from slave owners, hmm.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so how are you feeling, my friend? I think it's actually pretty interesting that my husband and I have shared roots. Yeah, so I do appreciate.
Speaker 1:Your husband's a slave owner too. Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 2:And I think it's great for our children to know this information. I guess it's a fact of life that this is how some people made their living.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the backs of others. It's crazy. So when do you want to write your check for reparations, sonny? Who are you going to pay? Who are you going to cut the check? Oh, you're not going to pay reparations, but your privilege is what made you famous, right, sonny? So how? How much are you going to gonna pay? You make millions of dollars a year. How much?
